We absolutely love shooting weddings at Chenies Manor House!

It’s a stunning Tudor Grade I listed manor house in Buckinghamshire with award-winning gardens, making it a wedding photographer’s dream for photos as it has so many stunning photography spots. It’s also set amongst beautiful countryside with incredible views across the Chess Valley, giving wedding photos an incredible backdrop.

Plus, if you’re a fan of The Crown on Netflix you might recognise Chenies Manor House, as it was the filming location for the home of Winston Churchill!

We had the pleasure of shooting the wedding of Sarah and James at Chenies Manor House, it was a really fantastic day and we were honoured to be part of it.

We love their story too, Sarah and James first met at Air Cadets almost twenty years before they got married. Their lives had gone in separate directions then they met again through a dating app where they soon realised that they were meant to be, it’s such an incredible story of fate bringing them back together!

We captured a full day of wedding photography for the couple, starting with the bridal preparations. This part of the day is really exciting to photograph as there is so much anticipation and fizz in the air! Of course, as a photographer, you get to capture lovely emotional moments such as when Sarah presented her bridesmaids with special gifts and her dad’s reaction to seeing her ready for the ceremony. (We all needed a tissue at that point!)

The groomsmen of course didn’t get left out of the Chenies Manor wedding photography and we got some great shots of James meeting their guests before the ceremony, plus check out those awesome superhero cufflinks for the groomsmen.

One of the joys of weddings at Chenies Manor House is the choice of locations for your ceremony. Sarah and James had a beautiful romantic outdoor ceremony, with Sarah walked down the aisle by her dad and her son. Combined with James’ very emotional reaction to seeing his bride for the first time, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

The Jubilate Ladies Choir, where Sarah is a member, performed during the drinks reception, and we just love it when couples bring such personal touches like this to their wedding day. During the drinks reception, guests could explore the grounds and play garden games before tucking into their meal and enjoying the speeches. (We also spotted some tables having fun playing the classic wedding sweepstake game of guessing how long the speeches will be!)

The party really kicked off in the evening when guests were treated to entertainment by The Roadrunners band! We also snuck Sarah and James off for a few night time photos, as the grounds are lit up beautifully in the evening.

We really loved being part of Sarah and James’ special day. If you’re looking for a really magical wedding venue in Buckinghamshire then be sure to take a look at Chenies Manor House, it’s a stunning location and a wedding photographer’s dream!
